Voting is Our Super Power Rally October 1 in Portland!
The Voting Is Our Super Power rally takes place in Portland (not Salem as originally planned) on Saturday, October 1. Indivisible’s co-founder Leah Greenberg will be the featured speaker and Congressional candidates Andrea Salinas of District 6 and Jamie McLeod-Skinner from District 5 will also be there and share remarks. The rally kickoffs the final push for Election Day 2022, which by then will only be 30 days away. We want a big crowd to energize and motivate all of us for the work that lies ahead in October. To encourage as many A4D members as possible to attend, there will be no regular A4D monthly meeting on September 27. Organizers of the rally are encouraging anyone who likes to dress up to come as their favorite superhero, as it’s going to take a super-heroic effort to make sure progressive candidates are elected in November. Indivisible Oregon Phone Banks Need You
Join a group of Indivisible Oregon’s dedicated phone bankers. For Reclaim the Vote phone banks, Indivisible Oregon is partnering with the Center for Common Ground to make calls to Black and Brown communities in states that suppress the vote. These non-partisan calls are intended to help people navigate what can be a challenging voting process where they live. The calls take place Mondays. Closer to home, phone banks are also being held for Jamie McLeod Skinner running for Congress in District 5, which is one of the most competitive seats in the nation and critical for maintaining the House majority. Her MAGA extremist opponent still refuses to acknowledge that Biden won the 202 election! These phone banks take place on Wednesdays, from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
