Let’s Finish Strong! Two More Weeks to Get Out the Vote

Let’s finish the work we’ve begun, help get out the vote, and prevent voter suppression. This election could be determined by the narrowest of margins. Florida starts counting ballots several weeks prior to November 3. If we get a landslide of early votes, we could end our national nightmare by election night. There are a whole array of phone banking opportunities, which are well organized and supported, even for those who have never phone banked. Swing Left Greater Boston’s hosts phone banks to Florida in English, Spanish, and Creole. Check out their calendar and sign up for a phone bank that suits your schedule. Other options include volunteering for the Florida Voter Protection Hotline, for which you will receive appropriate training, and ballot curing phone banks to help voters who have had their vote-by-mail ballots rejected (Florida has many new vote-by-mail voters who could have their ballots rejected due to common errors). For any questions about phone banking in Florida, reach out to Phyllis Brown at phyllisabrown54@gmail.com. Join a Georgia phone bank this Wednesday and next Wednesday from noon to 2:00pm to campaign for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris In Georgia. Hosted by Indivisible Oregon and Swing Left, these phone banks are fun, easy, and rewarding. Register here! For an overview of other upcoming opportunities to get out the vote, visit Indivisible Oregon’s comprehensive list of events.

The Oregon Democracy Project Bridging Divides and Securing Democracy

The Oregon Democracy Project is an initiative of the Coordinated Oregon Indivisible Network (COIN). Its mission is to displace disinformation with facts, establish an Oregon in which our shared values bridge divides, promote a future that includes all Oregonians, and secure a strong democracy that guarantees every vote and voice counts. Visit the Oregon Democracy Project Facebook page for accurate information that counters disinformation promulgated by Timber Unity. Timber Unity poses a grave threat to Oregon’s democracy, supports extreme right-wing candidates, serves as a faux grassroots alter ego for the Oregon Republican party, and has refused to disavow white supremacist organizations. The Oregon Democracy Project needs our help. If you have a Facebook account, please follow and like Oregon Democracy Project’s page, share it, leave a comment, and like its posts. Doing so will help amplify its messaging and will enable the Oregon Democracy Project to reach many more people.
