Portland Rally for Reproductive Rights This Saturday, October 2 Portlanders will gather this Saturday, October 2, at 11:00am at Revolution Hall, 1300 SE Stark, to show our solidarity with demonstrators across the country who will be hitting the streets in support of women’s reproductive rights. The event will begin with speakers after which we will walk a 1.5 mile loop. More speakers will conclude the event as will a party/fundraiser in the evening. Read all the details here and put your marching shoes on! This is an important issue none of us can afford to ignore. COIN Squads Been Politically Active? COIN (Consolidated Oregon Indivisible Network) has organized the COIN Squads initiative to ascertain how effective Indivisible chapters in Oregon are. The concrete data squads collect will enable COIN to make a strong case for grassroots activism and demonstrate to elected officials that Indivisible gets things done! Please let A4D’s Melinda Fleming know what actions you’ve done this past week. She is tracking calls to representatives; postcards, letters, and emails written; canvassing; phone banking; text banking; and social media activity. You can reach Melinda at: melindafleming11@icloud.com In Portland WE CARE As part of In Portland WE CARE, seven A4D volunteers assembled 50 gift baskets for healthcare workers over the past weekend, which included healthy snacks, small items of personal care, and notes of encouragement. Next, they are going to deliver gift items to Providence St. Vincent’s hospital once the Oregon Nurse’s Association determines when. Another delivery of baskets to Providence Portland is scheduled for the week of October 11th. Thank you to everyone who contributed! If you would like to join the effort, get in touch with Melinda Fleming at melindafleming11@icloud.com Double Your Money Donate in October Beginning October 4 until the 31st, A4D will receive matching funds up to $500 when you make a donation. Thanks to Indivisible national’s distributed fundraising program, we will all benefit when you donate to A4D in October. Every donation counts. No amount is too small!
