One Small Thing-PDX September 2, 2020 Virtual Meeting

How We Can Defend and Extend Democratic Legislative Control in Oregon

Are you tired of Republican Senators’ walkouts ending past legislative sessions when they don’t like bills that were introduced? Fed up with rule by the minority not doing their jobs to attend and work on legislation? Register here to attend the next OSTPDX meeting.

Representative Barbara Smith Warner has confirmed she will join Senator Michael Dembrow to speak with us about election and legislative strategy. Also, meet two candidates for Senate seats that could swing to Democrat.

Join us onWednesday, September 2, from 5:30 – 7 pm. We will learn about strategic Oregon races to focus on up and down the ballot for the November election.

Senator Michael Dembrow and House Majority Leader Barbara Smith Warner will be our special guests. Also, we will hear from DemocratDeb Patterson, running against Denyc Boles (appointed after the death of Jackie Winters) in key District 10 in the Salem area, and DemocratEileen Kiely, who is challenging incumbent Republican Tim Knopf in District 27, which includes increasingly progressive Bend. We will learn how we can take action to help support them in winning these two crucial Oregon Senate seats.

The first 100 lucky people who register via this link will receive a Zoom link for the event. Be sure to register soon and be part of a massive blue wave for Oregon candidates!

One Small Thing made endorsements in five federal and statewide races in collaboration with the Consolidated Oregon Indivisible Network (COIN): for President Joe Biden, Senator Jeff Merkley, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, Oregon Treasurer Tobias Read, and for Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan.
