Image: from THIS website titled "Top Police Drones for Law Enforcement".

IT'S BEING CONSIDERED RIGHT NOW!

Before you enjoy the going through the juicy list of events below, please quickly submit written testimony before 3pm Tomorrow (Friday, May 9th) explaining that you OPPOSE Senate Bill 238A. We made it easy for you.

SB 238A would:

  • Give both the police and sheriffs in Oregon total discretion to deploy an unlimited number of drones for the surveillance of anyone, at any time, regardless of context.

  • All this without any oversight or accountability.

  • The bill contains no stipulation as to what should happen with the data it collects.

  • Therefore, the chances are non-zero that some of it will end up with federal authorities.

Since we know that unchecked power never bodes well - we should all register our opposition to this bill. The ACLU of Oregon has a one-page explainer HEREEasy Steps:

  1. Access a sample testimony HERE.

  2. Copy the sample text into your own document.

  3. Adjust it to your liking.

  4. Submit it HERE.

  5. You can either:

    1. copy your testimony into the box provided,

    2. or - you can upload your response as a PDF file.

    3. You can also type directly into the text box. Your choice.

  6. Be sure to set the "Position on Measure" box as Oppose.

THANK YOU FOR SAVING OUR FREEDOMS!

Providing written or verbal testimony to legislative bodies is merely one of the many influence-points available to us.  HERE's a longer list of the different ways you can exercise power.
