You’re Invited! Indivisible 97201 Monthly Meeting Tomorrow

Our friends at Indivisible 97201 based in downtown Portland have extended an invitation to all OST members to join them tomorrow, Tuesday, November 24, at their monthly Zoom meeting.

John Horvick, the Director of Political Research at DHM Research, a local nonpartisan opinion research firm, will be the speaker. He’ll be giving an overview of the recent election and what lies ahead in his talk “Oregon 2020: A Review of the Election, What It Means, and What’s to Come.” A timely topic for all of us!

To join the call, which begins at 5:00pm and goes until 6:30, you need to register in advance at this link. Horvick will begin his remarks at 20 minutes past the hour.

Emergency Legislative Session under Consideration

Oregon lawmakers are considering an emergency session in face of the rising toll of coronavirus in the state, which would be dependent on Governor Brown declaring the situation a catastrophic disaster. To read about the prospects of this happening, read this Oregon Public Broadcasting article.

OSTPDX Leadership Team Taking Stock

In this time of transition, the leadership team of OSTPDX is continuing to take a look at what’s been achieved over the past four years and what challenges lie ahead. As the 2021 legislative agenda has not been released yet, it’s an opportunity to renew and reflect as we reconfirm our commitment to progressive activism.

Any thoughts, input, suggestions, or interest in getting more involved you may have are most welcomed. Please reach out individually or send an email to onesmallthingpdx@gmail.com.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
