WHY REVOKE VOTER-APPROVED

CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORMS

WITH NO PUBLIC DISCUSSION?

The City Auditor's office is trying to get the Legislature to pre-emptively revoke the contribution limits and disclosure requirements approved by 87% of Portland voters back in 2018. This is all happening in a hurry and without public discussion even though many city offices are closed on Presidents' Day. A decision on this could happen as early as today (Monday, February 17th).

ACTION:  Email your district's councilors (contact info below).

If you care about reducing the influence of big money in Oregon politics, tell your councillors to go on public record opposing this flagrant disregard of voter's voices.

THREE ACTIONS FOR TODAY

  1. Most urgent: the City Auditor's office is trying to get the Legislature to pre-emptively revoke Campaign Finance requirements overwhelmingly approved by voters in 2018.

  2. Rally at City Hall today: Noon to 4pm.

  3. Also: our Mayor approved Zenith's land use compatibility statement without any public discussion on the matter.

DID YOU NOTICE?

Wednesday's Agenda for the City Council has one hour set aside to "Accept the Portland Police Bureau report to City Council on the 2025 Portland Joint Terrorism Task Force".

NOTE: The report itself is only six pages long. Only one hour of discussion time has been allotted to this report on Wednesday's agenda. Is our city abiding by our state's Sanctuary Act laws?

ACTION: If you can attend Wednesday's Council meeting or watch the Youtube live cast, please do so. Let us know at a4dpdx@gmail.com if you plan to go.
