It’s Election Time Return Your Ballot!

As it’s too late to mail your ballot, it’s time to take your ballot to an official drop box. And remind your friends, family, and colleagues to do the same. November 3 is almost here! For a list of all drop box sites in Multnomah County and statewide, including public libraries, check this site.

Get Out the Vote Phone Bank and Donate!

The last weekend before Election Day is upon us! Let’s do whatever we can to make sure all our hard work over the past four years pays off. Join a phone bank and/or donate to candidates facing tight races who need funds for a final media blitz. The options below come with OST’s recommendation.

  • Florida still needs our help. For phone banks and other activities, check out this calendar of events, and sign up for a phone bank here.

  • Join Oregonians phone banking for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. You’ll find a selection of get-out-the-vote phone banks here.

  • Indivisible Oregon is hosting the last of its last weekend events. Choose from their many opportunities for getting out the vote at this link.

  • Shemia Fagan’s race for Secretary of State is close. Her campaign still seeks donations to keep TV ads on the air through the upcoming weekend. To donate, go here and to sign up to phone bank for Shemia, go here.

  • Peter DeFazio’s race is also tight. To make a last minute donation, visit his website.

November 4 March to Defend Democracy in Portland

In alliance with communities across the country, OSTPDX has joined with more than 40 local community organizations to cosponsor a mass mobilization the day after the election, Wednesday, November 4. The purpose of the family-friendly march is to stand up for Black lives and protect the integrity of the 2020 election. The organizing coalition is committed to nonviolence and to that end has enlisted security trained in de-escalation techniques to accompany the march. The afternoon event will begin at Revolution Hall at 3:00pm and continue on to Waterfront Park, where a rally will begin at 5:00pm. The return march to Revolution Hall will conclude by 8:00pm. If you’re interested in helping out with the mobilization, volunteers are needed. Contact Lynn Youngbar for details at lynn@lynnyoungbar.com. To learn more, join the movement, and sign the defend democracy pledge, visit the Defend Democracy Coalition website.
